Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 May 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Recho AB ("Ready Reverend", "we", "us") governing your use of the Ready Reverend mobile application and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Ready Reverend is
Ready Reverend is an AI-powered conversational companion that provides pastoral-style reflections, prayer, and guidance grounded in Christian scripture and tradition. You choose a Christian tradition (Catholic, Anglican / Episcopal, or Mainline Protestant) and the Ready Reverend adjusts its tone, scripture selection, and theological perspective accordingly.
The Ready Reverend is an AI assistant, not a human minister. It does not represent any church, diocese, parish, or denomination officially. It is not a substitute for pastoral care, professional counselling, or emergency services. See our Disclaimer for more.
2. Who can use the Service
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you are under the digital age of consent in your country (16 in many EU member states), you need a parent or legal guardian's permission.
- You must provide accurate information when you create an account and keep it up to date.
- You may only hold one account at a time.
- The Service is not intended for use in any jurisdiction where its use would be unlawful.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us at support@readyreverend.com immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. When you delete your account we erase your conversations, saved prayers, profile, and other personal data within 30 days, subject to limited legal retention (see our Privacy Policy).
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything illegal, harmful, or abusive
- use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm any person
- attempt to extract, train on, reproduce, or redistribute the underlying AI model or our system prompts
- attempt to circumvent safety features, rate limits, subscription limits, or other controls
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the Service
- send automated requests at scale, scrape, or otherwise abuse the Service
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity
- use the Service to generate or distribute content that violates the rights of others, including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights
- use the Service to provide medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice to others
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
5. Content
5.1 Your content
"Your content" means anything you submit to the Service — the messages you send, your display name, your profile details, and any prayers you save.
You keep ownership of your content. By using the Service you give us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must retain data for legal reasons.
5.2 Ready Reverend responses
The responses generated by the Ready Reverend are provided to you for personal use. You may save, copy, or share them as you wish. We make no copyright claim to them, but the underlying system, prompts, model, scripture databases, and software remain our property (or our licensors').
5.3 Accuracy of responses
AI-generated responses may be wrong, incomplete, or occasionally inappropriate despite our safeguards. They do not reflect the official position of any church, denomination, or Christian authority. Do not rely on Ready Reverend for doctrinal, medical, legal, financial, or emergency guidance.
6. Subscriptions and payments
6.1 Plans
Ready Reverend offers a free tier and one or more paid tiers. Current pricing and message allowances are displayed in the app at the point of purchase.
6.2 Billing
- Web subscriptions are sold and billed through our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC). When you subscribe on the web, Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for that transaction: it processes your payment, is responsible for collecting and remitting any applicable sales tax or VAT, and appears as the seller on your payment statement. You authorise Lemon Squeezy to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis.
- iOS subscriptions are sold and billed through Apple's In-App Purchase, with Apple acting as merchant of record. Apple's terms apply to the purchase; we manage your entitlement via RevenueCat.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
- Prices may change. We will notify you at least 30 days before a price change affects you, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
6.3 Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.
- For web subscriptions, cancel in Settings or by emailing support@readyreverend.com. Because Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for web purchases, refunds for web subscriptions are processed through Lemon Squeezy; email us and we will arrange it.
- For iOS subscriptions, cancel via your Apple ID subscription settings. Refunds for iOS purchases are handled by Apple.
- Refunds: we do not generally offer refunds for partial billing periods. Where required by mandatory consumer law in your country (including the EU right of withdrawal and Australian Consumer Law), we honour your legal refund rights.
6.4 Free-tier limits
Free-tier users are limited to the message quota displayed in the app (currently 30 messages per month, 5 per day). We may change these limits with notice. We may impose additional rate limits to prevent abuse.
7. Our charity commitment
Ready Reverend is committed to donating at least 60% of its annual net profit after tax to registered Christian charities. We will publish an annual transparency report confirming the amount donated and the recipient organisations.
[LAWYER REVIEW — confirm charity-language safe harbour and reporting obligations in AU/UK/US/SE before publication. Confirm whether "net profit after tax" needs further definition, and whether charity selection policy needs separate disclosure.]
8. Availability and changes
We try to keep the Service available at all times, but we do not guarantee it. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, upgrades, or security reasons. We may add, change, or remove features. Material changes that affect your paid subscription give you the right to cancel and receive a pro-rated refund for unused time.
9. AI, safety, and how we handle crisis
The Ready Reverend is trained to respond pastorally and safely, but it is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, experiencing a mental health crisis, or considering self-harm, contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately. Suggested resources:
- Emergency services: 000 (Australia), 999 (UK), 911 (US)
- Crisis lifeline: 13 11 14 (Australia, Lifeline), 116 123 (UK, Samaritans), 988 (US, Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)
10. Intellectual property
All rights in the Service — including software, design, system prompts, AI pipeline, Bible corpora, UI, trademarks, and content we create — belong to Recho AB or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any rights to you other than the limited right to use the Service.
11. Third-party services
We use third-party providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Supabase, Lemon Squeezy, Apple, Vercel, Sentry, and others). Your use of those services via Ready Reverend is also subject to their terms. Where you link out to a third party, we are not responsible for what happens there.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, and uninterrupted availability.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any warranty, right, or remedy that cannot be limited or excluded under the law that applies to you, including (where applicable) the non-excludable consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, and EU consumer law.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, or goodwill.
- Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) EUR 50.
- Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claim arising from (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Service, or (c) content you submit that infringes the rights of a third party. This clause does not apply to the extent the claim is caused by our own negligence or wrongdoing, and does not apply to consumers where prohibited by law.
15. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we decide to discontinue the Service. If we terminate without cause, we will refund any prepaid unused subscription time.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law, dispute resolution) survive.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Consumers (defined under EU, UK, or Australian consumer law) retain the protection of mandatory provisions of their home jurisdiction — nothing in this clause deprives you of rights you cannot waive.
Disputes: before starting formal proceedings, please email support@readyreverend.com and allow us 30 days to resolve the issue. If we cannot resolve it, you may bring a claim in:
- the courts of Sweden (for Recho AB);
- or, if you are a consumer, the courts of your country of residence;
- or, if you are in the EU or UK, the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform or your national consumer authority.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will notify you by email or in-app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree with the change, you may cancel your subscription and stop using the Service before the change takes effect.
