Our Giving Commitment
Last updated: 17 May 2026
Ready Reverend is built around a simple commitment: at least 60% of our annual net profit after tax goes to registered Christian charities. This page explains how that works in plain language, including the practical timing and tax implications, so you can hold us to it.
1. The pledge
Recho AB — the Swedish company that operates Ready Reverend — commits to donating no less than 60% of its annual net profit after tax to a set of registered Christian charities across the traditions we serve: Catholic, Anglican, and mainline Protestant.
This commitment is stated in our Terms of Service, Section 7, and is binding.
2. How "net profit after tax" is calculated
For the avoidance of confusion:
Net profit after tax = annual pre-tax profit, minus Swedish corporate income tax (20.6%), as shown in Recho AB's audited annual accounts filed with Bolagsverket.
The 60% calculation is applied to that final after-tax figure. No creative redefinitions, no excluding categories, no "adjusted" profit metric.
3. Timing — why donations happen the year after the profit was earned
Annual profit can only be finalised after the financial year closes. In practice, this means:
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Year 1, Dec | Financial year ends. Profit and tax are calculated. |
| Year 2, ~Feb–Mar | Books closed, after-tax profit known. |
| Year 2 | We donate 60% of Year 1's after-tax profit to our charity partners. |
| Year 2 | We publish the annual transparency report (see below). |
So when you read our transparency report in early Year 2, it covers the donations from Year 1's profit, made in Year 2. There is always a roughly one-year lag between earning the profit and the money landing at the charities — that's the nature of any "% of annual profit" pledge.
4. Tax treatment — honest disclosure
Sweden introduced a corporate tax credit for charitable donations on 1 January 2026, but it applies only to a narrow list of Skatteverket-approved charities (mostly Swedish-registered). Many of the charities we support — particularly our Anglican partners, which are based in the UK — are not on this list and therefore do not generate a Swedish tax credit for Recho AB.
We have chosen our charity partners based on mission fit with our users' traditions, not based on tax-efficiency. As a result, the majority of our donations earn no tax benefit at all, and Recho AB pays full corporate tax on the underlying profit.
Where a donation is eligible for the Swedish tax credit (i.e., goes to a Skatteverket-approved Christian charity), one practical detail applies: the credit reduces the following year's tax bill, not the current year's. This is because:
- The credit attaches to the tax year in which the donation is made, not the year the profit was earned
- Since donations are made the year after the profit they came from, the credit lands in that same later year
We disclose any tax credits earned, and how they were used, in each annual transparency report.
5. Where the money goes
Our charity partners are chosen to serve users across the three traditions we support. The current list:
Catholic
- To be confirmed before launch — see annual report for current allocations
Anglican
- To be confirmed before launch — see annual report for current allocations
Mainline Protestant
- To be confirmed before launch — see annual report for current allocations
The allocation across charities for any given year is published in the annual transparency report.
6. Transparency report
Each year, within four months of Recho AB's financial year-end (i.e., by the end of April for a 31 December year-end), we publish a public report that includes:
- Total Ready Reverend revenue for the year
- Net profit after tax (matching the figure in Recho AB's filed annual accounts)
- The 60% commitment amount
- The actual amount donated (if higher than 60%, we say so)
- Each charity that received funds, and how much
- Any Swedish tax credits earned, and how the resulting saved tax is being used
- Total since the company was founded
The reports will be published at readyreverend.com/giving and linked from each year's annual accounts.
7. What this is not
- Not tax-deductible to you. Your subscription payment is for a service you receive, not a donation. You cannot claim it as a charitable deduction on your personal taxes.
- Not a charity itself. Recho AB is a for-profit Swedish AB. We donate a majority of our profits to registered charities; we are not a charity ourselves.
- Not subject to charity-style governance. Donations are made at the directors' discretion, within the binding minimum set by our Terms.
